The key to engine component cost is time and materials.
For example, Scat Enterprises forging process uses a pressure technique instead of a traditional slambam hammer approach to make its forged steel cranks. A crankshafts primary job is to convert heat energy into rotary motionand power. Ford's decision to terminate 351C production was rooted in scaling down production costs. Weve been long taught to believe we must have a steel crank to do highperformance work. When shopping for stroker kits, just keep in mind that Windsors and Clevelands use different piston types and will need to be specified when ordering parts. During combustion the quench area promotes good flame front travel and reduces the probability of detonation. When you look at the two types side by side, the difference in size is quite clear.
